STROKE SUPPORT GROUP

A compassionate space for learning and healing.

Stroke Support Group

Norterre and Liberty Hospital partner together to provide a support group for stroke survivors and their caregivers. It’s important that caregivers and stroke survivors strive to be “care partners” in their efforts. It’s often a challenge for both to adjust to their changing roles. We offer this support group to provide a friendly, compassionate space for learning and healing.

Stroke Information:

A stroke occurs when the blood supply to part of the brain is suddenly interrupted or when a blood vessel in the brain bursts, spilling blood into the spaces surrounding brain cells. Brain cells die when they no longer receive oxygen and nutrients from the blood, or there is sudden bleeding into or around the brain. Stroke affects American’s every 40 seconds.
